Does a new form of nutrition lead to faster discharge in premature babies?

The neonatology department at the Children’s Hospital of Central Switzerland (KidZ) provides intensive care for premature babies born before the 37th week of pregnancy and for babies born at term who require medical support after birth. In this project with the neonatology department at KidZ, it is being investigated whether a new form of feeding, known as semi-demand feeding, can help children to emerge more quickly. With semi-demand feeding, children are given food when they need it individually – and no longer according to a fixed schedule.
